Copper John

Northern Brown Ale

This ale is modelled after a Northern English style brown ale. These ales are typically less sweet, have more hop presence and are somewhat lighter in colour. Basically it is a perfect companion for an evening of fly tying or just hanging out with friends by the fire.

We are in Lundbreck Alberta. Right on the doorstep to the Southern Rockies. We have a kid friendly taproom and a dog friendly patio space!

Most fly fishers will know what a Copper John is but I will fill you in if you aren’t familiar.

This fly is present in the fly boxes of most fly fishers on the rivers of Southern Alberta and if it isn't, it should be. It is a super versatile fly that imitates a wide range of insects.

Being avid fly fishers we thought it was fitting to celebrate a fly that has such a rich history and so many good memories tied to it.

This beer will be satisfying no matter what you are doing. Whether that is tying flies, warming up after a big powder day, or just chilling with friends by the fire.

The art which adorns our this can was originally painted by local artist Sandy Ottewell-Watson who is known for fly fishing themed content. The painting was then rendered and put onto our label by Lucid Arts and Design.

If you visit our taproom you will find Sandy’s art for sale up on the walls.
